Directions to the Worcester Art Museum

 

From East-West South
Mass. Turnpike (Interstate 90) to Exit 10, Auburn; I-290 heading East to Worcester, Exit 17. At top of ramp turn left on Rt. 9 to Lincoln Square, proceed through Square to 4th set of lights at top of hill; turn right (Harvard St.); Museum is on left at 2nd traffic light (Salisbury St.).

From East (alternate)
Mass. Turnpike to Exit 11-A; I-495 North to I-290 West to Worcester, Exit 18; take right at light at bottom of exit ramp (Lincoln St.); take first right (before lights) onto Concord St., go straight (Concord becomes Salisbury St.), at third light, turn left onto Lancaster St. Museum is on left at 55 Salisbury Street.

From North
I-495 South to I-290 West to Worcester, Exit 18; take right at light at bottom of exit ramp (Lincoln St.); take first right (before lights) onto Concord St., go straight (Concord becomes Salisbury St.), at third light, turn left onto Lancaster St. Museum is on left at 55 Salisbury Street.

From Downtown Worcester (Worcester Common)
Follow Main St. East; go 6 lights, turn right on School St.; go to the first light on Worcester Center Blvd., turn left. At third set of lights turn left (Concord St.); go straight at next light, then immediately bear right (Salisbury St.). Museum is on left in the second block at 55 Salisbury Street.

From Providence (Rt. 146)
Rte. 146; Go to rotary at Brosnihan Sq. where Rte. 146 ends; bear right at rotary (pass school on right), proceed straight a short distance to entrance ramp marked I-290 East to Exit 17. At top of exit ramp turn left on Rte. 9; proceed through square to fourth set of lights at top of hill; turn right (Harvard St.). Museum is on left in second block at 55 Salisbury Street.

From I-190
Take I-190 South to I-290 West to Worcester, Exit 18; take right at light at bottom of exit ramp (Lincoln St.); take first right (before lights) onto Concord St., go straight (Concord becomes Salisbury St.), at third light, turn left onto Lancaster St. Museum is on left at 55 Salisbury Street.

Leaving the Museum

From Salisbury St. entrance to I-290 East
From Salisbury St. entrance: Take parking lot exit, turn left (one way) onto Tuckerman St. Turn right onto Salisbury St. (at lights); go through next set of lights, bear left (Lincoln St.) where you will see signs for I-290 East. Before the bridge follow signs to I-290 East.

From Salisbury St. entrance to I-290 West
From Salisbury St. entrance: Take parking lot exit, turn left (one way) onto Tuckerman St.; turn right at lights onto Salisbury St.; go through one set of lights, bear right taking peel-off road into Lincoln Square, (avoid sharp right to tunnel). At first set of lights, turn left onto Rte. 9. Exit I-290 West is clearly marked on the right at the next set of lights.

From Lancaster St. entrance to I 290 East:
Take Lancaster St. to first set of lights, turning left onto Institute Rd. and turn left again (Tuckerman St.); turn right onto Salisbury St. (at lights). Go through next set of lights and bear left onto Lincoln St. where you will see signs for I-290 East. Just before the bridge follow the signs to I-290 East.

From Lancaster St. entrance to I 290 West:
Take Lancaster St. to second set of lights turning left (Highland St., Rte. 9); follow Highland St. to fourth set of lights. Turn right onto I-290 West, which is clearly marked.

Parking

Parking lots are available on Salisbury, Lancaster, and Tuckerman Streets. On street parking is permitted on Lancaster and Tuckerman Streets.
