Item Description: | The original version of this work for flute, 2 oboes, 2 clarinets in C, 2 bassoons, 2 horns in C, trumpet in C, and English bass horn (type of serpent; may be played on a modern tuba, but never on a contrabassoon); two versions for piano, 4 hands, are arrangements derived from the version for large wind band composed in 1838. Composed in 1826 (the original version for the wind ensemble of 11 players); arranged in 1838-39 (the two versions for piano, 4 hands, reduced from the version for large wind band composed in 1838).
