The second provides a comparative analysis of these regulatory frameworks and details the different approaches used by the 22 countries. The final section offers recommendations on the contents of a dam safety regulatory framework. The study lists essential elements needed in all dam safety regulatory frameworks. Also discussed are a number of emerging trends in dam safety and the book includes seven appendices which contain a dam safety statute and a sample operations, maintenance and surveillance manual.
