Here Alvarez describes being shot down, captured, and eventually transported to the "Hanoi Hilton" where he endured isolation and torture. He describes incidents during his captivity and how it affected his personal life. Finally, he discusses his feelings about anti-Vietnam war protests in the United States, about the end of the war, and his experience as a POW.
