Interview with Ama Hoa, 1981.

Ama Hoa describes life in South Vietnam under the "strategic hamlet program" in which Vietnamese civilians were armed and organized into defensible villages. Often relocated and contained, Hoa likens the hamlets to prison camps and recalls the lack of freedom of movement.
