Summary:January 14, 2008, a Norwegian delegation under Foreign Minister Jonas Gahr Støre are staying at the five star Serena Hotel, in Kabul, Afghanistan. At 6:30 pm local time, three men disguised in police uniforms creates a distraction while a fourth man enters the hotel compound to detonate his suicide vest. Inside the hotel, Norwegian journalist Fredrik Gresvik and cameraman Aage Aune hears the machine gun fire and a bomb blast, the launch of a terrorist attack claiming six lives, including journalist Carsten Thomassen. The news documentary 'The Serena attack' is Gresvik and Aune's inside account of a suicide attack. It is a fast-paced, sad and chilling story of a night of violence. The film was commended by the Association for International Broadcasting, the jury calling it a 'compelling piece of television with strong narrative.'
