| Summary: | This performance showcases Luciano Pavarotti at his magnificent best. The role of good hearted Nemorino might have been written just for him. Hopelessly in love with wealthy Adina (Kathleen Battle), Nemorino watches, helpless, as flashy Sergeant Belcore (Gino Quilico) seems to win her heart. Enter Dr. Dulcamara (Paul Plishka). He's a quack, but Nemorino believes that the love potion Dulcamara is peddling will help him win Adina's love. It's only a bottle of plain old Bordeaux, but never underestimate the power of true love -- or of Luciano Pavarotti's seductive tenor.
