Summary: | Maniram has a thriving albeit dubious family business that has made him a wealthy man. Tejo, who is married to his younger son, Bhagtuji, helps to run the business. One day, Maniram's elder son, Dhani returns home to get married. In his drunken state, Dhani unwittingly distributes the counterfeit money that he had been printing in the city to his wedding guests. When the law catches up with him, he is sentenced to ten years of imprisonment, while Maniram finds himself in a spot, when he is unable to distinguish the counterfeit money from the real money that he had originally owned. Meanwhile, Dhani's wife, gives birth to a son. Dissatisfied with her position in the family, Tejo schemes and plots to take over the family business so that she may gain financial independence. However, Maniram has other plans in mind and transfers the ownership of his land to his grandson. Furious, Tejo exacts her revenge on the family. This film is adapted from Anton Chekhov's 'In The Gully' and features the beautiful landscape of the Kangra Valley.
