Descripció
Sumari:Ryan Nicholls aged 8 from Auckland. The Waste-Away is an eco-friendly way to dispose of household and commercial food waste by converting old food into fertilizer. The Waste-Away is like a regular waste master but unique in that it separates the mulched food waste collecting it in a composting container. Over a period of time rich compost is made and dispensed automatically to be used on the garden to grow food. With waste masters pouring tonnes of food waste into the sewer every day this device would not only save money, it has the potential to reduce the city's sewerage output. Fertiliser is bought in bulk by commercial and private growers and represents a massive market potential. If Ryan's invention were to be installed in all homes in New Zealand, waste that is thrown out by the tonne every day could be converted into a product worth real money. In practice all is not well when Ryan's Mum objects to having her garden transformed into a compost factory so Ryan's challenge is sweeten the deal by convincing master landscape gardener Robert Luijten into transforming Mum's garden into a Eco-Wonderland.
