520 |a Half of Vanuatu's population is under 20 years of age. The number of teenage pregnancies and the spread of sexually transmitted infections is very high, but those living near the poverty line have little access to contraceptives or even reproductive health information. To address this situation, the Kam Pusum Hed clinic was established next to the Won Smolbag Theatre building in Port Vila in 1999. Kam Pusum Hed "KPH for short" means "drop in for a visit" in Bislama, Vanuatu's lingua franca. The clinic provides information and counseling as part of its advocacy work. But it also provides testing and treatment of STIs, including HIV testing, the distribution of contraceptives and counseling. But there is a debate that the services that the clinic provides should be the responsibility of the Vanuatu government. This documentary explores this debate and shows how the clinic provides services to the rural and peri-urban areas in which it works.
