Description
Summary:Two giants of the contemporary dance scene, John Neumeier and Patrick Dupond, working together during the genesis of a new choreography. John Neumeier's worldwide reputation as one of the greatest artist of his generation is already well-established. Since his début in 1963 at the Stuttgart Ballet, then under the direction of John Cranko, John Neumeier has never ceased to appear on the most prestigious international stages, first as a dancer, and as soon as 1971, as a sensitive and original choreographer. His exceptional career, which led him to the Royal Ballet in London, the American Ballet Theatre in New York, the Stuttgart Ballet -- among others --, was awarded the Prix Benois de la Danse in 1992. Following the choreographer John Neumeier and the famous principal dancer Patrick Dupond during their rehearsal of a new choregraphy on Igor Stravinsky's Petrouchka, Dominique Delouche's documentary reveals to the public the secrets behind the creation of a ballet.
