|a In 2011, as a part of the 29th edition of the Lyon Baroque Music Festival, the Ensemble La Fenice performed Purcell's Odes under Jean Tubéry's direction. Watch the Ensemble La Fenice under Jean Tubéry's baton at the Chapelle de la Trinité (Lyon, France) performing a three-piece concert from the Baroque composer Henry Purcell. Elegance, melancholy, euphory, earnestness and sobriety were the order of the day. La Fenice started with Come Ye Sons Of Arts, the composer's last ode, which includes the very deep solo Bid The Virtues, Bid The Graces, and carried on with Three Parts Upon A Ground, For The Flutes. The concert ended with the masterpiece Hail! Bright Cecile, surprisingly inspired by both profane and holy elements. The Ensemble La Fenice, from Auxerre (France) has won the first prize in two international competitions (Bruges, 1990 and Malmö, 1992) and has played in the most important festivals in Europe and all over the world.
