520 |a This video describes how to perform robot-assisted radical cystectomy (RARC) and intracorporeal neobladder formation in female patients with muscle-invasive bladder cancer. Use of this state of the art technique has been expanding rapidly, but it continues to be performed primarily by surgeons in tertiary referral centers. The aim of the video is accordingly to increase familiarity with the procedure on the basis of the lead author's extensive experience. The surgical techniques in females and males are not identical owing to differences with regard to both the anatomy of the pelvis and the reproductive organs that may be removed during the procedure. While this video focuses exclusively on RARC in females, a companion video describes RARC in males; both videos are subdivided into organ-preserving and non-organ-preserving RARC. As regards urinary diversion, the intracorporeal Studer-type neobladder technique is introduced.
