Summary:The melting of the polar ice-cap is altering the map of the world definitively. The world's superpowers are facing off for the rights to mine the region for its treasures. Two renowned photographers - Dutchman Kadir van Lohuizen and Russian Yuri Kozyrev, have travelled to the North Pole region to record the effects of climate change. Dutch photographer Kadir van Lohuizen travelled across the western part of the Pole Circle - with a group of Canadian soldiers through the cold of Canada, and with the American coastguard to the outer reaches of Alaska.The Russian photographer Yuri Kosyrev travelled across melting tundras to gigantic gas fields, where he climbed on board an icebreaker.
