The Goyffon's were later forced to leave Cuba and came to Louisiana. Before his death Mr Goyffon made testament to grant the plaintiff her freedon on the time of his death. L'Espinasse was appointed executor of his Goyffon's estate but he did not carry out his duty to grant the plaintiff her freedom and set up title in himself after a period of time. The court passed judgment in favour of the plaintiff for her freedom.
