There was lots of conflicting testimony concerning the various allegations. The bond taken out by the defendant to cover his potential loss if he lost the case could not be held as evidence of his guilt. It was ruled that words which impute to a female, a wanton and lascivious disposition only, are not actionable. Words spoken after the action was brought could not be used to convey the character of slander. Judgment for defendant affirmed.
