Ubu roi directed by Paul Kafno ; a production for the Open University ; BBC-TV.

This stylized farce, first translated in 1951, satirizes middle-class tendencies to abuse authority and become irresponsibly complacent. In this play, Ubu deposes the king of Poland in order to claim the throne.
