Oral history. Chelly Mendoza
Chelly Mendoza served in the Army as a medic in the 1st Cavalry Division and took part in combat operations in New Guinea, on Los Negros, and in the Philippines. While in Manila, he tended to sick and infirm civilians who had been held in the Santo Thomas University internment camp.
