Louisiana, Supreme Court, Opelousas : Carson v Dwight and Another, September 1843 [printed].

The defendants appealed from a judgment condemning them to pay the balance for a slave to the plaintiff. The slave had brought a suit to claim her freedom and the defendants argued that the sale should be declared null and void. The Supreme Court upheld the original judgment.
