Louisiana, Supreme Court, New Orleans : Heres v Powell, June 1851.

A suit by a tax-collector to recover from the defendant, a dealer in slaves, [dollars] 570 in taxes due on the sale of 114 slaves. The defendant pleaded that the tax was unconstitutional. The lower court found for the plaintiff and the defendant appealed. Judgment affirmed.
