Georgia, Inferior Court, Putnam county : State v Dick ; a slave;, November 1831.

Dick was accused of the murder of another slave called Tony, the property of Sarah Roper. Not guilty plea. Verdict of manslaughter. Dick was sentenced to 39 lashes to be repeated on three separate days, as well as branding with the letter M.
